Right Relationship in Present Time: Co-Creating Intercultural Coherence in Relational Fields

As awareness of human diversity expands, therapists, facilitators, and practitioners are increasingly asked to hold complex relational spaces where culture, identity, power, and history are present in felt, immediate ways. These dynamics can evoke uncertainty, tenderness, fatigue, and deep care. How do we stay resourced and present while meeting conflict, oppression, and difference with clarity—without hardening, collapsing, or flattening what is alive?

Right Relationship in Present Time is a 7-class experiential series supporting practitioners who work at the intersection of relational depth and social complexity. The course explores how intercultural dynamics—identity, power, historical trauma, systemic oppression, and conflict—emerge as living processes within therapeutic, somatic, facilitation, and collective contexts.

Through integrated somatic, reflective, and cognitive inquiry, participants develop greater sensitivity to layered dynamics across individual, interpersonal, group, and collective levels. We learn to recognize patterns such as over- or under-coupling, freezing, looping, and polarization, while cultivating practical ways to orient toward greater coherence, responsiveness, and ethical presence in real time.

The course creates space for practitioners to reflect on how their own histories, identities, positionalities, and embodied responses shape the relational fields they hold. Rather than asking for certainty or performance, the emphasis is on curiosity, humility, and relational honesty. The ethics of plurality come to the forefront as oppressive or homogenizing dynamics are examined without centering guilt, shame, or dominant identity narratives.

Open to practitioners of all backgrounds, this course supports the development of shared language, perceptual clarity, and renewed relational capacity. Drawing on both ancient and emerging ways of knowing, Right Relationship in Present Time invites participants into a practice of intercultural coherence that is sustainable, humane, and oriented toward liberatory possibilities—remembering that caring for the field also includes caring for those who hold it.

From Joseph:

"I was inspired to teach this class after several people in the communities I was participating in were asking for more information about Biodynamics, the breath of life and the tides.

The embodied experience of the tides moving in nature, culture and the cosmos has been the single most important resource for my professional practice and personal life path over the past 20 years. I'm honored to share with you some of the ways I have learned to listen and dance with my greatest teacher and inspiration, the breath of life.

As we turn again and again to the wisdom within the tides themselves, we are continuously attuned to understanding something about the immanent presence in which we dwell. Over time we develop deeper new-old patterns of attention that sing a song of returning continually to the source of being and belonging within a living and ancient universe.

It is my intention in sharing what I know with you that this remembering belongs to you and stays with you as your path continues beyond our time together."

What people are saying about Joseph’s teaching:

"I am so very happy and grateful for your amazing Tides work and classes. They are superb, and have exceeded my expectations. As a senior  RCST practitioner, with lots of study over the years in a variety of disciplines in the extended and diverse community of the Fluid explorations and inquiries, this says a lot.

I have worked with Emilie Conrad, with Cherionna Menzam Sills, in Watsu with Mary Seamster, and many others.

Your class is one of the best I have ever taken, online." —Rosalind Dunn

“Joseph is an amazing, humble human, whose youthful curiosity, extensive education, obvious skill from practice, and ageless wisdom blend into a fabulous mix for teaching healing somatic work.” —
