Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement® (ATM®) 2024 Classes with Alison Babil

Freeze and tension can show up on any level in the body and heart. The Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education takes students through gentle, sophisticated movement sequences with awareness to meet and transform habitual patterns of tension and freeze.

The aim is more freedom and potency in one’s body and life. Feldenkrais is named after its founder, Moshe Feldenkrais. Dr. Feldenkrais was a high level Judo master and physicist. After a debilitating knee injury, he taught himself how to walk again using what became known as the Feldenkrais Method®.

Join us for a movement journey! Each series will focus on a different topic and include six Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement (ATM) lessons. Lessons will be suitable for beginners or experienced students in the Feldenkrais Method.

*Each series will address melting freeze and the whole body, whole person. Series topics will interconnect.
*Classes are recorded. Participants will receive recordings.

April 3rd – May 8th , 2024, 12:30-1:30 Eastern, on Zoom, +1:30-45 optional sharing.

September 11th – October 16th , 2024, 12:30-1:30 Eastern, on Zoom, +1:30-45 optional sharing.

Feldenkrais for Early Development

November 6th -December 12th , 2024, 12:30-1:30 Eastern, on Zoom, +1:30-45 optional sharing.

As infants, time on the stomach allows for the development of essential sensory-motor strategies. These movement strategies lead to the orientation of the head and neck, directionality, eye coordination, crawling, walking and more. This series will explore movements lying on the belly connected with early development. Feldenkrais belly-lying lessons can profoundly shift tension patterns that form later in life, including low back pain and much more.

Training Cost: $125 per series. Sliding scale discount for those with financial need.

A refund will be available until 2 weeks prior to the training dates. After that, no refund will be available.

More Student Feedback

🌟Since the Feldenkrais class with Alison I have more energy, strength, presence, and mobility.
This is such powerful work. THANK YOU Alison!

🌟My body learned new ways to exist and move in space and time with more ease, flow, wholeness.

🌟I had right hip and shoulder pain that was not responding to all sorts of treatments.  Both of those pains have reduced significantly.

🌟It was my first exposure and experience to the Feldenkrais method. I was amazed that I was able to bring mindfulness to my daily activities after a few weeks of classes.

🌟Alison Babil + Feldenkrais = kind guidance and containment for reaching quiet depths.  I am continually surprised by the effectiveness of this sweet path to more fluidity and freedom.

🌟It’s been so lovely to “re-member” how easily my body can shift towards greater health.

🌟neck fluidity connecting down through thoracic spine. total surprise. more felt-sense connection with rib movements in relationship to breath.

🌟
Alison, thank you. You were consistent, clear and a caring presence for us.

🌟Alison‘s Feldenkrais Series is just what I’ve been looking for for years. The class is offered at a convenient time and Alison is clear, kind, somatically informed, and very well attuned. Brava!
