Alchemical Alignment - Course Agreements

• I consent to the virtual learning and practice of somatic tools. I understand that the basic purpose of this course is learning about re-regulation of the body for the purpose of my own personal development. 

• I understand that it is not a function of this class to diagnose or treat any health conditions, or to prescribe any course of care. Any information shared with me is educational in nature only. Somatic practice is not meant to take the place of medical, psychiatric, or psychotherapeutic consultation or care.   

• I understand that taking this course is not a replacement for any kind professional training and does not equip me to offer somatic care to others. 

• I understand that the instructors, assistants, and my classmates cannot make any promises or guarantees with regard to healing specific challenges.

• I take full adult responsibility for my well-being during and after the course, including during movement exercises, somatic practices and small group discussions. I affirm that I am in good enough physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual condition, and can participate in the current training.

• I understand that it is recommended that all students be in relationship (before, during and after courses) with trusted healthcare providers. Neither the instructor nor assistants are available to provide individual sessions during classes. The assistants may be available before, during (outside of class time), and after trainings for paid sessions. Scheduling with them proactively is recommended.

• I agree that I will not give feedback to another person without negotiating their permission. I will use “I statements,” and I will honor the boundaries that are set. I agree to keep anonymous and confidential other students’ process and sharing unless given explicit permission by the other students.

• I understand that Alchemical Alignment is a mindfully inclusive school, and may include members of groups (variety of cultures, genders, sexual preferences, races and more) with whom I have not had much regular intimate experience. I commit to practicing respect, curiosity, and inclusion.

• Other than previously publicly available information, I understand that spoken, written, and recorded information provided as part of this course- including all visuals and graphics (including but not limited to maps), handouts, documents and images, remain the intellectual property and copyrighted material of Alchemical Alignment, and as such any requests to copy, reproduce, publish, teach, share, etc. may only occur with express written permission. Once written permission has been given, I agree to give credit to the lineage from which I learned the material.

• I give permission for the recording of the class which may include my shared video and/or voice depending on how I choose to participate. These video recordings will be made available to class participants, assistants, and may be used for future teacher training purposes.

• I understand that mind-altering substances (plants, drugs, alcohol) are not to be used during class. Because a foundational part of this work involves developing increasing capacity for perceptual awareness and also because some classmates may hold early attachment injuries involving substance use/abuse, I agree to show up as present as possible without the use of recreational drugs or mind altering substances during the days I attend classes.

• I understand that full tuition payment is due before or at the beginning of class, or according to our monthly tuition agreement. If I need to change or cancel my participation, I am aware of the cancellation and refund policy stated above.

• I agree to hold Alchemical Alignment, the teachers, assistants and classmates, Zoom and/or the training location harmless with regard to any injury, liability or loss I may incur as a result of attending classes.

• If I need to miss any part of a class, I understand that I am responsible to catch up on the missed segment in a timely manner as I understand the classes build upon each other. 

• The teaching team reserves the right to ask students to pause their studies and join a future cohort, or leave the class altogether if a student is unable or unwilling to honour the student agreement or is disruptive to the virtual classroom in another way.

• I understand that preparation time before, and integration time after, will make my experience that much more rich and worthwhile.
